hello all..
Back in the early 60's I saved a 1955-D Lincoln Cent because i deemed it "interesting".
There is a bridge connection between the 9 and the 5.
A raised line goes from the 3:00 position of the circle of the 9 to the top left end of the line at the top of the 5.
Has anyone heard of anything like this before?
I am no camera expert...i will try for a better pic.

Welcome to the forum!
Here's a link to posting pictures: LINK (http://www.lincolncentresource.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6124&highlight=posting+pictures)
It could be any number of things, as the other Jason suggested die chip, die crack, a gouge in the die or a few other posibilities...

Hi Wayne,
Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you.
Like stated in a previouse post, it's probably a die chip or die crack which was real common during that time, but we'll have to wait for the pics to be certain.

The scratch looks quite evenly struck so I am thinking it is a die scratch or die gouge.
The fifties are blessed with many different die breaks on the date and Liberty.
