How long will it last

Found this one this morning. There is a pretty good crack in the reverse die. Just wondering how long you think the die would have lasted?

Nice find Mike.
There seems to have been a lot of large die cracks this year. More than I have seen in quite a few years. Not sure why. Quality of materials? Over use? I'm guessing the Mint used a lot of different dies this year. Somehow I picked up a box of Professional Life cents a couple of weeks before they were released from the Mint (not sure how that happened) and the rolls were stuffed with large die cracks and die breaks. It was obvious the dies were already beat up....and this again was before the official release of the series from the Mint.

I think at some point with so many Doubled Dies found in 2009, that through die state analysis, someone would be able to guess the total number of coins struck per die when a large crack or break forms. As of now I have no idea what it takes for the Mint to determine the crack is terminal and is pulling them from use. With so many problems with the dies this years it is probably quite a few…
