While doing some research with Jason Cuvelier on 1982 1-O-VI and 2-O-V Doubled Dies and their comparables I came across this coin. This specimen exhibits class 2 and class 5 characteristics. It also has what appears to be either a cool die break or a misplaced D mint mark. It could also be a die clash but as this area of the hobby is not my expertise I will defer to those in the know.
Thx and happy hunting,
Jeff

Very nice Jeff! That one sort of *talks* to you about how special it is.

Nice find! I don't believe I have seen a 1982 with a class II DDO on it...
That is a die break on the date for sure.

I am not so sure that this one is a class 2 DDO. I see what you are seeing, but am a bit skeptical. I would have to see this one in hand to make a determination on what it is.

I don't know if this means anything, but Wexler illustrated an '82P (Wexler & Flynn, ARLC page 239) as WDDO-003 (LCDDO-003) (old delisted CONECA # 5-O-II + V) that looks similar. I suppose it could be just another class V that has a different pivot point than 1-O-V (1DO-002)...
(Of course I am curious why it was delisted from the CONECA files.) ...And I agree with Brad about the die break in the date.
