I got a 1987 proof set and out of my 100 or so I have this one has the half D in the middle with the united states proof set below it and all the other coins are upside down?.. Is this normal?

Ok, now I get it.
No, that's not normal but unfortunately I don't think a packaging error increases the value any. You might find someone to pay a little extra for it though. Good luck.

Packaging error done fetch much. I had a 1970 mint set with 2 1970 S small dates. One was in the normal spot, one was in the D spot. On Ebay it sold for the price of the coins, but not more.

coins in proof sets can be easily pryed open and taken out and moved

FYI - with silver proofs sets always make sure that the coins are silver and not clads from someone doing the old switcher-roo

How can you do that without damaging the coins?
