These pictures are the best I can get with camera and microscope through the slab.
This coin might be 1944D-1MM-001 D/D North... but...
I cannot find the markers that make a positive identification on either side of the coin.
There is a horizontal die gouge near the center of the eye.
There is also a die crack over VDB plus straight up from VDB to a point nearly into the field of the coin.
I received it today and it will go into my special wheat MS66 collection. With this kind of anomaly and an MS66 PCGS grade do you think it is worth more than the 18.00 I spent?
Thank you for checking.
Jean

It sure looks like #1 to me. Maybe an EDS. I would guess that its worth more than $18 to any collector. Nice pick

Nice looking coin Jean. How far along are you with your MS66 wheat collection?

Nice RPM find Jean. I have no references with me but it does look like a nice RPM - BTW it does not look like an EDS (if that matters).

Thank you all for checking this one. I was sort of surprised by the rpm because I could not see it when I bid on it.
EDS or otherwise, I think it was a good addition to my little MS66 collection.
So far I have 37P, 37D, 37S, 38D, 38S, 39S, 40P, 40S, 41P, 42D, 42S, 44P, 44D, 44S, 45P, 45D, 45S, 46S, 49S, 53D (MS65), 54P (MS64 Red Anacs No VDB attributed), 54D, 54S, 55S, 56D, 58P (MS66 Prf), and 58D.
The 60's, 70's and 80's eras I am working on slowly. The 90's and up are going to be at least PR69 DCam if I can find them all and afford them.
Such a thing to start at my age... :)
