This example is unlisted of that I am sure. It does exhibit what at first appears to be MD. But on closer inspection, the S has split serifs. The date and Liberty are worn down at the tips but well I just don't know. If the light shines just right they look seperated. This is the first of a series of examples that I found today while looking through a newly purchased batch of wheats. Any help will be most appreciated. Who knows maybe one of you has seen this type before.

It looks like a severe case of MD. It is possible to have a DDO, DDR, or RPM that also exhibits MD, but I can't see any split serifs.

I agree that it is MAD, although the S is actually tripled on this example and it is very difficult to get the light just right on the darn thing.

The machine doubling on this one would make it just about impossible to verify if it is an RPM as well. Either way, the MD is still very much visible for an 80 year old coin.
