Seems a bit high...
That is high. We should remember that Ebay is a haven for selling coins. With copper prices rising, the last year of the Lincoln before the change to the new Cent, people are gong to start hoarding. They will almost buy anything. IMHO

I agree with you a bit high for Die #8 -- at least for that grade.
But for a Gem BU/Red that would be about right.
I sold a Die #2 Gem BU/Red while back on eBay and brought almost $200. However, it also was a VEDS with the doubling extremely sharp and crisp.
Now if we can only find a genuine Die #4 then lookout. Easy grand for that baby! And no, I'm not kidding.

I'm trying to get 1972 DDO's 1 through 8. It seems that 1972 ddo 4 will be tough. I have DDO 1, DDO 2 and DDO 8.
It seems that ddo 4 will be tough.
Good Luck! You, me and about a ton of other variety collectors have been trying to get Die #4 for many, many years. I have them all except #4 to include a few other different dies for '72 that very few even know about.
Billy
Did you consider biding on this one?

I bid $23. I lost.

I didn't see the auction as it was running. However, be glad you lost. It's not a die #4 if it has the dot on the lips. One of the die markers for a Die #7 is the dot on the lips.
Billy
That is why I bid so low. I figured that if it was a die 2 or die 7 I would not be losing that much. Glad I lost.

Billy, like this one? I beleive it is your CDDO-013 ?
1895
1894
By chance do have additional die markers for the 013? This one was not in your book. Maybe in a DVN issue?

That is one of the newer one's in my files. Plus about 4 or 5 more similar to that one.
Wexler posted an article on his web site on many of these that were sent in from Brian Allen.

Brian Allen had also sent his coins to me as well, so JAWs and I have them listed in each of our respective filing systems. They will be illustrated in upcoming Volume II.

Wow Billy. That's going back awhile. Nice info. I'm still on Reserve.

Duh!!! I guess that did go back a little.
As far as 1972 Philly DDO's -- currently I have 17 listings in my files.

I don't doubt your files and I resprect your opinions. Easy on the remark's. I did bring up the past.

It wasn't directed at you. What I meant was I didn't realize the thread went that far back in time and was putting the blames on myself for not paying attention.
Not a problem. We all research the past files. I was poking at ya. It was my fault. Bad sence of humor this time of nite

Brad:
I got a 72 die 4. If I can find one so can you. I just wonder are people really paying the $ for a die 4?
Thanks
Roger
