I think it is the DDR-009 - first did I get this right? Now my question is - on the coneca website I see the die stage b. If I got the variety correct - I see all the cracks mentioned, plus a few others. The attached picture shows the crack through the A in states very clearly. Want I can't seem to get is all the light cracks to show in pictures. The crack to the button actually extends past the button(about 1/2 way to bow-tie - see the ugly glare picture), the crack on the forehead actually extends right around the eye. Plus there is a light crack on the cheek and a light crack from below the left corner of the eye to about the lower part of the nostril. I actually can not get pictures of these addition faint die cracks(actually if you now where to look the ugly pictures shows the one on the eye and the one from below eye to nostril)

Now my question is what die stage would this be? I don't actually see the die crack in the A on states mentioned on the coneca website.

Thanks

Not every die marker is listed by attributers, just the major ones. Assuming this is DDR-009 (which I cannot tell, but the crack does look correct) there may have been other cracks present but not noted as the large crack was enough. (I can check my DDR-009 for you, but just not at the moment.)
I would suggest using Wexler's site, Coppercoins.com and Crawford's DVN site for attribution along with CONECA. This DDR is listed as CDDR-009, WDDR-006 and 1DR-002.

Photographing coins is difficult and involves trial and error. We have a nice thread started about coin photography here:
http://www.lincolncentresource.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4037 (http://www.lincolncentresource.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4037)

I should add that die state and die stage do not necessarily represent the same thing, the stages are done by significant changes along with die states. A coin may be listed with three stages (A, B & C) that coincide with die states (EDS, MDS, & LDS) but the die stages may also start at EMDS while others may have 6 or 7 stages with several stages occurring during the same die state. A good example would be to look up 1972P DDO-003 on CONECA.

Thanks - looks like each site has a little something different. Got the information I needed.
