How do you know what you are looking for? Do you have all the RPM memorized or do you look at a book when you find something out of the ordinary. I do check websites for a listing on a variety. I also have a list to go by on certain dates. But the other dates I don't have..... It's time comsuming regardless how I do it. j

Regarding RPMs lots of them are upstairs. However with 2,444 and counting it is kind'a impossible. You know em when you see 'em. Lot and Lots of unattributted ones. A nice collection of pictures too . Along with info from Coppercoins , CONECA, Variety Vista , NCADD. Also others past and present with collections to compare with. There are lots of resources.

I do check Coneca, there list only gives a vague descriptionof the MM location. With so many Varietieties it could be anthing. Coppercoins gives pictures but is slow to post them. Variety Vista I check often. And thank you Wheat Cents for NCADD info. NCADD is very informative. Does anyone use Books to look up coins?

I have looked at (not over 50) for the 1988 RDV-006 with no avail. I have been looking for the 1989 that has been debunked. I guess I might ought to give up for now. When it comes to just picking up a Cent, I guess to look I must know what to look for up top. Thank's

Basically I think there are a few different possible approaches to this- some people inspect every coin they come across very carefully, i.e. with a loupe, and while it's time consuming you typically won't miss anything.

Myself, I favor throughput as opposed to careful inspection of everything so when I go through cents I look for the varieties that can be easily seen with the naked eye, and put all the dates aside that have known doubled dies that I need a loupe to check out. These I then go back to later and look through all at once. I've memorized everything I want to look for, so that helps. This method typically allows me to go through about 1,000 cents in one hour.
