How do you put an avatar on here? There is one thing, I have no idea what all the little dohickeys are or what any of the slang means. What I really need is exact step by step instructions so I can write them down. If anyone has time ( and it might take time ) to lend a helping hand it would be much appreciated...

Go to "User CP"
Under "Your Control Panel" -> "Settings and Options" click http://www.lincolncentresource.net/forums/images/styles/lincoln/misc/usercp_icons/picture_empty.gifEdit Avatar (http://www.lincolncentresource.net/forums/profile.php?do=editavatar)
You can either choose a predefined avatar or upload your own:

Here is what the avatar screen looks like:

OK, how do I upload? I know zilch about this...

Toward the bottom of the page, if you click on browse it will allow you to upload an image you have saved on your computer.
Click Browse, look in "My Pictures", click on the photo of your choice, click "open" and then "save changes". Hope this helps Abe. If not, let us know well try again.

You can either download them from your digital camera or while searching the web if you see a photo you like Right click on it, click save image as, save in My Pictures, then click Save. You now have a picture in My Pictures. Now you can go back and click Browse again. Let us know how that works. Good luck.

Is my pictures on my home page or in the avatar thing?

My Pictures is usually in My Documents and is found on your computer's desktop.

Just find an image of a coin you like from the internet, 'right click' the image and select "save picture as," then save it to your My Pictures on your computer. Following the info above, on the avatar page, click "Browse...," find the saved image in My Pictures, select it and click "Save as" below - that's it.

With your mouse on your chosen photograph click the right button of the mouse then click "save image as". When the box pops up, at the top of the box is a field with a drop down menu labeled "save in", change that field so it reads "My Pictures". Now at the bottom of the box click where is says "save".

Just save it anywhere on your computer that you can find it again later. The desktop or any folder will do.

When you hit browse, later, you just need to go back to where you saved the image and select it...

Thanx everyone for your help, I'm finding it difficult to self-teach myself when there are SOOO many little steps to take. Now I regret not going to a free 6 week course last spring, but last spring I still hadn't turned on my first computer and had no interest. Again Thanx.
