This is another possible rpm that will probably be making a trip with others to Bob's house. Wanted to get some opinions 1st. The lower serif on this 1988-D appears tripled to me.

There was a damaged mint mark punch used in 1988. You may want to look at this link, and see if it matches yours. It seems like it to me Rock.

Well Bob, I had seen that when I was checking on this coin. Although the markers are subtle and this coin is a bit circulated, none of the markers are there. Do you think there was another damaged mm punch? And by the photos, are you saying it doesn't look like a legit rpm?

The damaged mint mark punch was used on many dies. Each one would have different markers. The markers on coppercoins is for that particular die. I did mean that it did NOT look like a legitimate RPM, but as always, I would need to see it in hand to make the proper determination. Sorry for the confusion.
