Here is the laugh for the day. However, the winner of this auction is going to be very disappointed when he or she finds that that this coin has been tampered with outside the mint.

While "magician" coins do have some value as a curiosity, the bidding for this auction is way far and above that value.

I sent the seller this question;
Can you add a picture of the edge of the coin so we can see the split planchet where these two coins were joined together?

Up to $100??? When will they learn?

Ridiculous. It would have to either be a marriage of two magic coin parts or a deliberate fusion of two coin halves. I cannot believe anyone is foolish enough to bid $100...but someone paid $650 for a fake '09 FY die clash so it could be worse...

To me it looks as though it is a 1914 that someone screwed with the 1 to make look like a 7. The obverse looks more like a wheat than a 1970's era coin. Just my opinion.
Either way 100.00 for that is just :LOL_Hair:. I really know very little about mint errors, but come on, alittle common sense on this one and you don't even bid.

Can't understand what makes someone bid on an item like this. Common sence should tell ya there isn't any such coin. But what do I know a couple weeks ago I put one of my 2006 P doubled ear on Ebay nice BU and got only $9.95.

Maybe it is a 1934 (which is now oddly contained within the comment section from the seller) with either PMD on the date or (and I somehow doubt it) a struck through grease obliterating the lower portions of the 3. Regardless, not worth $100.

Wow. Unbelievable. Even I'm not that gullible.

If you're right about it being a 1914, there won't be a VDB under the shoulder. I can't tell from the photo.

The only clue that I have that this could be a 1974 Lincoln cent is that the motto "In God We Trust" is closer to the rim than it was for the 1914 Lincoln cent.
We also have to look at the 1 digit. It is not a descending numeral as is the 7 digit. The coin pictured has a descending 7 digit.
I am sure that I see a slight crevice around the rim on the obverse. So, what you end up having is something like this pictured below. This is the "shell" that an obverse can be fitted into.
