1983-D Filled 8

Just found in a bank roll. We have found 6 of these. Are they a varaiety or just a filled die.

Roger I have a number of those too, it seems there was a major malfucntion at the Mint in 83.

It is not a filled die either Roger. It is a die chip. Please look at these very carefully as there is a DDO with a die chip like this (coppercoins die-003).

Hey Roger, if the die chip is in the bottom of the 8, look for the DDO. A die chip in the top of the 8 is just a die chip. I found the #-003 a few weeks ago, and have found a lot of the non DDO die chip 8's as well. Let us know if it's the DDO.

no i did not know it was a ddo
actually when i first looked at coopercoins i look at the denver mint mark - a case of DA!
