Here I have for your Sunday viewing pleasure a '43 with dramatic DDD that is NOT listed as something it is not; the title says "DOUBLE DATE." The description rambles on and is misleading but it could be a lot worse. Anyway, I am interested in seeing who can guess the final price. It's dramatic and we have a lot of foolish eBay bidders out there...who's down?

Well, 1943's will always get higher bids regardless, and the fact that it already has 2 bids on the 1st day indicates a higher level of interest. So, with that in mind I'll say $15.00 which is probably conservative.
Comment: I'm not opposed to what the seller is selling, but the listing description is a complete turnoff to me. It's like nails on a chalkboard. I wish sellers would realize that they could eliminate 95% of the BS and will still get the same price in the end. When people are shopping on eBay they are covering a lot of territory in a short span of time. They are not reading all that garbage. BIG, CLEAR pics and enough of them is your biggest seller. 2-3 line descriptions is best. If the item is a truly high end item and requires a more in depth description and history, then break it up into bite size paragraphs, stay on the subject, be precise and to the point. And for goodness sake, proof your work. Nothing screams IDIOT and I DON"T CARE louder than bad spelling and grammar on a listing.
Ok enought ranting. These listings get me going sometimes.

He tries to be good with the postage, but could still go around a dollar cheaper.
I can't stand the ones that charge for gasoline to PO and back as if they weren't going there anyway? I hate reprocessed pennies, I hate crooks, I hate postage gougers, and on and on and on...

These bidders don't think because they don't know, they don't know because they don't think. There is no hope for Ebay, this site and being genuine is lost forever are a certainty. I tried for years to contact sellers like this but it was waisted time.
Like another lession I had to learn the hard way in 1991, and did, is, "they will not change until the want to" - "they can be theatened, jailed, hurt, lost, alone, afraid, taked to and screamed at but, They will not stop until they want to"!
There is no reason for eBay lyers to stop selling and no lack of willing under educated persons bidding so why should they stop?

Pretty unbelievable to have 30 bidders up to $96 on that piece of metal! This is Darwinian! Someone is going to be very foolish-looking when they try to get an opinion of value or try to get it certified, assuming they do that.

It can be certified with "die deterioration doubling" and a grade. Even though I hate these kind of auction, I cannot find fault with the seller. More than likely he/she is the type that can sell ice cubes to an Aleutian. It is the bidders who are at fault.

I wonder if the bidders are taken in by the hyped up verbage and think its a good investment, or do they just like the coin. It is a nice looking coin which will impress their non collector friends a lot more than many of the legit but minor DDOs.

After all, any coin is worth exactly what you can get for it or what you would pay for it. We each have our own tastes. I just hope the bidders know what they want and know what they're getting.
