So far as I know, none of these are attributed yet. I went through one of my tubes, and picked out the most severe cases. Some of these are really nice.

- 2004 Tripled 7th column (slight doubling of lincoln's right hand and knees)
- 2004 Doubled 7th Column (quite ghostly looking)
- 2004 Tripled 7th column (unable to check knees and statue on this one)
- 2004 (self-explanitory, lots of doubling/tripling?)
- 2002 Triple 7th column (statue rotated CCW... check out the base of the statue :) )

Thanks for looking. Collecting has been slow since this wedding is two days off.

Who is getting married Andrew? You? I went thru the wedding thing last year in May. Life stops! especially the final days leading up to it. Everything gets put on the back burner.

nice collection of doubled columns. I really don't know if any of the attributers are even listing these any more. They seem to have lost their steam. I've filled a penny brick box up with them so far and plan to devote some time to them in the future.
If they are still listing them, I hope you send them in. I think they are really nice ones.

If not, i was contemplating opening up my own attribution site (once the new scope is here of course) just for the doubled columns/statues. I have to put my programming talents to use some way.

Yes, I'm getting married. As many are decieved, I'm 28 years old, so according to few that I've spoke to in here, I'm quite young, lol. Hopefully I get some bricks for wedding gifts ;)

Congratulations Andrew. I wish you and your bride all the best that life can bring to you both.

Funny, but I was thinking of a doublecolumn.com thing myself. I'm not a programmer at all but thought it would be a fun project to work on an extensive attribution listing for all these doubled columns, knees, feet etc. I believe Bill (Corroded) started something like this a while back. Maybe he will chime in and tell us where he is with it.

Thanks!

The doubled columns, etc. are just a teaser for when i get in a rut of finding anything else. Mainly 2001, 2002, 2004 are the years i exclusively check. I've found a few 99's that aren't listed (as i'm still searching for the horizontal column coin).

No plug or bad intentions with this sentence, but i could easily build a site in a matter of a week or so to compete with CC on the basis of coppercoins. Kinda like, leave the major varieties and RPMs to CC, and ship all the columns to me ;) Just a though. You just never know.

i am finding 2005 to be the most plentiful year for the doubled columns, i have posted one in particular (in a previous thread) tha i have three matching examples of (2005) and another different pne (2005) that that i have found 2 matching examples of. i find them fairly interesting, and a reason to look at the more modern coins carefully.

Coppercoins will only list the more major doubled columns. John Wexler lists significantly more of them than I do. Your #5 looks like it may have doubled knees as well. I think Bill (corroded) has annotated about 800 of these.
I too have almost an entire brick (actually 49 rolls) of minor doubled columns. Should you decide to start your own web site where you can photograph and document these, it would be a great addition to the numismatic world, and you would have my complete backing on it. It will be something like the traildies site where a specific type of anomaly will be addressed. A lot of work though. Good luck should any of you persue this task.

Yes, I have over 700 different. I have written articles for ERRORSCOP before about them. I guess they have little value. I just wrote a third article draft I have sent to a good friend for his oppinion on what i think about them. As far as value, there is probably none except for the most dramatic specimens. I can't see collecting
just the dramatic ones, one must collect all the different ones that are out there. You don't kick out minor Log Splitter's thumbs, fingers, blisters and hangnails because they appear minor. Should one kick out lesser doubled columns because they appear minor? These 04's pictured are nice examples. I have 52 different 04 plains and 18 D's. There are more Plains than D's in doubled columns, but in 08 plains, I have 2 and 08D I have 8. I still save each and every one i find. I once sold 70 rolls by mail to a man I know and now have accumulated close to 70 again. Duplicates we're talking.
Like I say, IT'S JUST A HOBBY!! Do with it what you wish with what you find.

Furthermore, they can be catalogued. The easiest thing about that is thery stopped
in 2008. Start with 1996D (when they started showing up in earnest) through 2008D
there are 2250 positions (90 positions for each date and mm). With only approx 700 pieces I have found, that leaves a lot of empty spaces. Most people would probably give up finishing them. A work in progress! It sounds like I'm cutting down my own hobby thing here, but I am trying to be real about it too. Actually, I thought one would be able find them all when i started doing them. Keep Searching.

Well, that's good. I'm going to pursue this website, and hopefully get it up very close to after the wedding. Wedding money is going to help supply some of the needed equipment for the venture, as graciously decided by my wonderful soon-to-be wife ;)

Bill:

If you're interested in sending me a sample of your documentation, i can fully accredit you with the basis of the website, and also work with whatever format you followed to create you listings, as that is a major hurdle in theory for me right now.

Thanks again everyone for the support, and who knows, maybe this will help the value on the coins, maybe not. the point is that they will be documented as with all DD's, and will help the general public know what they have for their own collections.

Sounds exciting Andrew. If there is anything I can do to help with the new venture please let me know.
