HAVE YOU NOTICED; I know that you haven't for no one has ever said anything about it.
Take a 2000 Lincoln cent and place it in between a 1999 Liconln cent and a 2001 Lincoln cent. Now look at Lincoln's bust; what do you see?

Hm... definitely looks smaller than the 99 or 01.

It looks like he loosened his collar in '00. Where it meets the bow tie.
Did they re-design the Galvano for this year? Only 2000 P Cent's? I think your on to something BJ.

I refer to this 2000 obverse die as the "pouting lip" Lincoln. Look at the differences in the lip area from 1999, 2000 and 2001. There maybe other differences, but this one seems to stand out and it is on both the Denver and Philadelphia dies. I am not to sure about the proof die, however, I am confident that the change is there also.
Did this have something to do with Y2K? :LOL_Hair:

Interesting guys, I especially like the decade-by-decade images from the cc forum, Trails.

I had forgot that I did that; old age you know :LOL_Hair:.
Actually, I did a year by year bust study for my book "Master Hubs & Master Dies of the Lincoln Cent; 1909 to 2006" among other things. The one surprising thing was the change of the obverse Lincoln from 1909 to 2006; very dramatic.
Heres a test for you. A couple of dateless cents I found in the last year or so.
I think one might have been sanded down, but the other might be legitimately struck thru grease or something.
What year(s) do you think?
2000 on the first one???? 2002 Second???? Does the bowtie look familiar on the 1st one? I'm going by memory only here.

Both dies have been struck through grease. The second coin doers have the pouting lip of 2000 Lincoln cent, so my guess is that it was from 2000. The first coin?
