Freinds & relatives spare change

i know many on here go to the bank and get rolls to look thru but how many on here have friends and relatives turn in their spare change to you like a bank for you to look thru & did you found anything good

i have 4-7 people do this with me - some are just pennies and some is everything

last night i found a 98 wide am thru my mothers & g/f's group of pennies of approx $2.50 worth ( i mixed them togther)

i've found a 1994 FS-039.9, Minnesota DDR-001 quarter , 2000 wide am from them

I have relatives that do indeed do that. My wife always saves pennies and my Mom and Dad .. and as of late have also found 1998 and 2000 Wides. I believe I posted a photo of the better found on this Forum site.

Never found the 1994 DDR FS 039.9 looking though spare change , but did find one going though BU rolls. Which is probably better. Have been meaning to get that certified along with a few others. I'll post a photo of it before It gets in the slab.

Would like to start a thred or two about the different labbers (the better ones) ANACS, PCGS, ICG, NGC, SEGS. but that is for later..


Any way a story about spare penny change..

Years before we ever met, my wife used to save wheat pennies while employed at a gas station. I was floored while looking through them many years later to find a beat up 1914-D. That coin was sold and turned in to the 1972 DDO in the old PCGS slab in albums. So I guess you could say that was bought for a penny and a gues you could say the 19772 DDO really belongs to is her.

Wow. Nice friends. My wifes friends let me search also, but I've never found anything yet.

My friend's and family also let me search there Cents. I usually will give them face value to save them the trip to the bank. No find's yet for there still in the 5 gallon jug.

Five gallon Jug... Watch out .

I had a big wine jug ( made of green glass ) my wife used to use.

Picked it up the bottom fell out.... Pennies all over the rug.

Nothing like a little searching while cleaning 'em up.

I have heard of that happening to a friend of mine. Made me grimace when he rolled them all up and took them to the bank. After the fact:(

When i search through friends/relative's change I get the feeling they think i'm lieing when i tell them i didn't find anything.

if you ever did find anything - do they expect that you share what its worth with them

with me - i think my friends and relatives know they would never find anything themselves - i've even made fun of some family members saying i would never find anything worth while but i've proven them wrong

with the talent of searching,alot of studying is done like being on this web site. most dont have the time and patient so if anyone expects to share then they should just take what they have to the bank themselves
