I'm not sure if this forum is the correct place to ask for this info, but here goes...
I have a 99WAM that is AU. I've not been able to sell it in the forums, so I am thinking about taking the coin in to a coin shop locally and seeing if I can work out some sort of trade for it...in this grade and taking it to a shop, can anyone tell me what value I should expect for it...at least to shoot for? I'm green at bartering...so, anyone care to guide me a bit?
If this is posted in the wrong forum, please move it to where it needs to be.
thanks for the help

hi:
make sure your coin shop knows about wams - many dont care. I would sell it on ebay.

This forum is fine.
I agree with Roger, most dealers won't know what it is and eBay will be your best bet. Take good photos that both establish the authenticity of the coin and allow for it to be graded by potential bidders. You should get at least $150-200. Good luck!

Gee I don't know about that jcuve. I can't find a buyer for my 99 wam ms65 red ANACS. Ken Potter even said ,if I remember correctly, that he'd offer me $140 for mine. The market is flooded right now in my opinion.

UNCERTIFIED 1999 AU WAM SHOULD BRING $85-$110. ON EBAY. MAKE SURE YOUR ITEM IS ACCURATELY DESCRIBED WITH EXCELLENT PICTURES.

Thank you for your input. The coin was graded and authenticated by Bob Piazza. I will check with the coin shop here and inquire if they would be interested in a WAM and see where that goes. If they aren't interested I am sure they will let me know and I will consider ebay. Again, thank you all.

Maybe $150-200 is too high? I haven't been as attentive with WAMs the last few months. I would still think you'd get more on eBay than a dealer...

I asked 110 a few hours ago when messaged, but I guess these things are harder to sell than I first thought. I've been asked about it a few times in here, but no one seemed interested then. I probably had it over priced. But, I think 110 is a fair price. I've had dealings on ebay before selling sports cards and comics...that did not work out at all. I appreciate your info and will take it in consideration. Thank you!

If you go the eBay route, the key is good pictures, that clearly show the coin and the wide AM. Here are some listings that ended between $180 and $200 recently:
