I just do not have it in me to argue with this seller. I wouldn't be shocked if it wasn't glue on the coin, what I was calling "Adhesive Doubling." The seller thinks it has everything, RPM, DDO, DDR and a Double Strike too...all on this wonderful 1996D Lincoln cent:

The word "America" is doubled die and appears backwards (http://cgi.ebay.com/RPM-DDO-DDR-Multiple-Struck-1996-D-Lincoln-Cent-Error-/160456684841?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item255bf6b529)

I sent a letter also. I might just travel to Texas to show 'Numismatist Dick' my invisible quadruple struck 4 cent piece. I'm sure he would confirm it as genuine for me.

Here is a bit of what the response to my message was. "personally had a PCGS authorized dealer U.S Coin and Jewerly Numismatist Dick to authenticate this specimen."
Very adamant about this coin being as is described.

...Bemused and ignorant...Dick knows best...here is the place he apparently works for HERE (http://www.buyuscoins.com/index.tmpl).

I said I wouldn't, but I did. In her response, she was adamant that Dick was right and her coin was a RPM, DDR & DDO...

I challenged her to send it to PCGS and I stated that I would pay her $500 for the coin if the PCGS label said "RPM..."

As Fiona would say on "Burn Notice", "Can we shoot them?"

"Numismatists Dick" seems to have all his blood in that place for surely his brain is functioning on a low oxygen level.

i sent a message to her - telling her that she was being discussed on lcr and she should think about her listing she replied:
Dear rh_coins,Greetings Well I guess I am used to be the laughing stock in all situations but I am sticking to what I am selling on Ebay and my notions and sense of reading coins personally now is quite sharp and I know that the specimen featured is a mint error Double Die Reverse second strike of the Lincoln Memorial on the Reverse and no other manmade error has any way of creating this type of error it was done the old fashioned way the mint machine at the Denver compound created this error nothing more nor less and this suspect escaped the Denver Mint Compound and found it's way into the circulation of change now for 14 years. I hope that the error collectors around this country and also on LincolnResource find it in their hearts to not make me into a specticle as I am a serious collector and genuine admirer of this varierty and wish to be taken as such for the sole purposes of sellng such fanacating pieces of MINT ERRORS.Thank You for your comment. Happy Bidding!!! And Dick by the way is a respected numismatist for 40 years and is presently a Senior Numismatist @ U.S. Coins and affiliated with the Professional Coin Grading Services (PCGS)and is highly respected by myself as his expertise is highly recommended and appreicated as such by me for the purpose of this auction. Thank You for your comment.

The i sent her a message that explained you cant have a rpm after 1989 - she reeplied she was sending the coin to pcgs for certification!

oh well

Will I be out $500? Ha, ha, ha...

I would guess after it is body-bagged she'll be so broken hearted she'll give up on coins. I have seen it happen several times.

jason you are right - i remeber when we started a couple of years ago - on how excited we were when we found a "doubled struck" coin. We thought we were going to get alot of money for this extra rare cent. The cent she found might be the one we found!

we were heart broken - but two weeks later we found a real "flip-over" doubled strike cent. That one was verfied and we still feel it is one of the best errors we ever found.

This hobby is alot of FUN!
