I asked my wife to stop at the bank and pick me up a box of cents about an hour ago. She just got back and as usual I couldn't wait to get started. First thing was the rolls were in a $1000 dime mint bag. The second about half and half shrink wrap and paper rolls. The shrink wrap look to have a lot of shine to them. I opened the first shrink wrap roll expecting to see some recently minted cents. I was surprised to see that most of them were 1997D and look BU. Many of the shrink wrap rolls show 1997D on the end but you can see the rolls are mixed.
Just wish it would have been 1997P. I think I will roll up a few rolls and hang onto them for a while.
The lady at the bank said they don't have much use for cents there and they are not used very often. These rolls may have been setting there since 1997. This was a bank that I had not been too.

You'll need to go there more often.

My wife would be too embarrassed to ask for a box of "pennies".

David - do you share what you sell with her - or do you consider it all yours like your 84 double ear

Of course I share.
She puts up with me spending hours and hours looking through that little glass at each coin in that heavy box. It took a while before I was able to convince her that it was actaully worth the effort... at least I think she's convinced.:tinysmile_hmm_t: The '84 IS mine and is not for sale.:tinysmile_twink_t2:

Ended up being 14 rolls UNC 1997D. Nothing to brag on but something different to find at the bank.
