What do you do for your teller/cashiers

I was just wondering what do you guys and gals do for your tellers and cashiers. After getting the 99WAM i thought it was a good idea to drop off a 50ct of munchkins. Figured it was a just call to make on a good find provided by them. I told them it was in thank for ordering these boxes on the weekly basis. but the younger teller said to the head teller i gave it to said he either finds you very cute and is interested in you or found something very good. but i left it as for just ordering me my boxes .

I think the 2nd teller was kinda right on both ends but thats not here or there.

So that got me to thinking what do you guys do for your cashiers when you get something good or just to thank them for their efforts on getting or keeping interesting items they find

I'm in Brooklyn, I just get a box and go; regardless of the reason, if I hung around to make chit chat or hand out some baked goods they would throw me out. If I told them I was looking at every single coin in the box, that would be enough to get thrown out or ignored the next time I dealt with the same teller.

Amen Jason. I do a lot of business with mine; don't feel like they're doing me a favor and neither do they. I've gone into all sorts of banks where I do not have an account and have gotten bricks or rolls. I do wish that my area (Miami) had bags though. I order mine from my brother in Nevada. Quite expensive (shipping charges) but I hope to get even one of these days.

Fortunately I live in a rather small town and our bank tellers are quite friendly. Once I showed them some of my Dansco album collections and they were very impressed. Not one of them had seen fantastic uncirculated or proof coins.

When the four new bi-centennial Lincolns arrived I made up a little baggie of one each of P and D mint for each teller and took them to the bank. I told them that I just wanted them to see what to expect when they started showing up.

I realized I had quite a few not-so-perfect miscellaneous proof coins accumulated which did not deserve to be in any collection. So I put a dozen in my pocket and next time I went to the bank I gave each teller one coin. I told them that the coins were not quite good enough for a serious collection so it was okay to check them over with their bare hands. They loved the coins.

If the teller has children old enough to collect I will give them a Whitman/Harris type album for the year starting in 1975, and a little baggie of coins to put in them. I figure the kids are more likely to find coins in their parents change that will fit in the slots.

Of course, if I were in a big busy town I would be extremely cautious about what I told anyone in the bank. No box of pennies is worth being mugged.

Sorry for the long story.
Jean

jean , thats kinda what i got here. small town smaller bank everyone friendly, i wont however go too far into what i do or look for. i figure boxes and 1500 in singles would be enough to keep me goin. A small something here or there I figure cant hurt. never know ive heard rumors from her staff that she is single. so who knows ;-) i figure being friendly isnt bad, long as its not too overally.

I do business in small bank. they all have time to visit, very nice girls, I gave them each a memorial set 1959-1998 one year, gave them candy one year, then just got them huge box of candy at Christmas with nice card. They did not love me any more or less for the gifts, except head teller Mary. She loved her penny book. She wanted to know what I did with pennies, so i sent her examples of doubled die photos on coppercoins and LCR and she was amazed. Bank of Evening Shade is another story. They got to be scared to death to see me come in and trade roll for roll. Also if they were on the phone talking to one of their girl friends about grandkids, one just as well had better get a chair and wait. I love it here, love the people, understand them, would hate to have to do dealings in large place like Brooklyn where threre is obviously no personalized attitudes toward customers. I have called dealers in NYC before and they talk a few words, then hang up in my ear
which i consider rude, but must be the norm there.

I ask the small mom and pop shops to give me what they have then I'll go through them to see if there is any possibilities of d/d or varities. if there is nothing I'll return them. I patronize them so it doesn't cost me a dime.
