Wow, my best find yet!

Additional Information
Date: 1941
Variety: DDO
Mint: Philadelphia
Coneca: 1-O-I
Wexler: WDDO-001
FS#: 1c-018
Coppercoins: 1DO-001

Hi all,

I got a bunch of wheat cents as a holiday gift, and they arrived just this morning. I was pulling out a few specific dates to look at, mainly late 50s Denver cents for RPMs, and a few 1941s just in case I got l got lucky. As soon as I saw the date, I noticed the notching on the 4, and quickly scanned the rest of the coin before doing a happy dance. I love this variety, and since I sold an example traded to me from Will, I had been wanting one. Now the search is over!

As a side note, there seems to be a little crud on some of the devices. I have goo-gone in the house, would that help remove the gunk on the coin? And if so, how do I apply it?
Thanks,

Simon

Congratulations Simon! Not sure about that product on a coin--I have never applied it to one.

Very nice find Simon! As far as goo-gone goes, I will let someone else chime in about that.

AWESOME FIND! I will provide the goo-gone help, as I have used it before. I just fill a small shot glass part way with it, and let it soak for 12 - 24 hours. Depending on what kind of gunk, it may or may not dispear. Seriously, It took bad verdigris almost all off of a copper 63 in just 1 1/2 days, and (some) rust off a steel cent for me... and the surfaces underneath look original. It works great IMO. If this does not work, soak it for another 1-2 hours and GENTLY use a thorn (no, they do not scratch the coin if you use the soft kind, I learned this on CONECA) to GENTLY loosen and remove the crud. And, wa-la... nice coin!!!!
